Night Train to Lisbon.

“And not only in time are we expanded. In space, too, we stretch out far over what is visible. We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place; we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there.”

One of the many quotes from the movie Night Train to Lisbon (2013).

Although it is a quite slow film, it has amazing quotes and beautiful scenes of my beloved city, Lisbon.

I wish I could do the same. Take a random train and travel to a new and exciting city. Don’t think. Don’t have second thoughts. Just live the moment and go with the flow.

Should I go for it?

Ponte 25 de Abril

This bridge is in the background of almost every scene shot in Lisbon. Until 1974, this bridge was named Salazar Bridge in honour of the Prime Minister. Soon after the Carnation Revolution in 1974, the bridge was renamed the 25th of April Bridge, the day the revolution had occurred. A symbol of those times was captured on film, with citizens removing the big “Salazar” brass sign from one of the main pillars of the bridge and painting a provisional “25th of April” in its place (Wikipedia). 1. I’ve never heard of this movie. It sounds wonderful. Such a wonderful bridge with great color.
